Dolly Birds and Swinging Sixties, 19th May, 10am – 3pm

This event will consist of a one-day symposium to explore the impact of alleged new found freedoms for women in the 1960s.

Increased affluence, cosmopolitanism, advancements in technology, the loosening of traditional gender roles and explosions in terms of popular culture all arguably contributed to the opening up of new spaces and opportunities for women.

Tickets for the symposium are £10 (free for concessions) and available from: https://dolly-birds-and-swinging-cities.eventbrite.com

The symposium is followed by a walking tour around Manchester entitled Women and Pop Culture in Sixties Manchester. Tickets are £3 and available at: https://dolly-birds-walking-tour.eventbrite.com

I would be very grateful if you would share the details of this event with any relevant networks.

Many thanks,
